This week we have been camping at Hunting Island State Park in South Carolina. It has beautiful beach walks, a nice campground, lots of birds and friendly staff. The only drawback has been several days of unseasonably cold weather. But today has been beautiful—sunny and 60 degrees. We walked a short trail called The Scenic Trail and crossed a footbridge to the Boneyard Beach.
This part of the park was hit hard by Hurricanes Matthew and Irma.
We met the local security guard, too:
He said to tell you my new birds for the week are the Pine Warbler, Yellow-Throated Warbler,
Brown-headed Nuthatch and Bonaparte’s Gull
